Competent innovations for the growth of

We deliver innovations for the digital society that respects human dignity.

Did you know that the majority of innovations fail to deliver the outcomes they promise? Often, this happens because of a rigid, one-size-fits-all approach that neglects to effectively integrate local knowledge, culture, and traditions. As a result, many initiatives fall short, causing unnecessary efforts and wasted resources. At Socrates Developments, we change that dynamic.

As an IT innovator, Socrates Developments champions technology with a human-centric perspective. Our mission is to craft groundbreaking digital solutions designed to empower individuals, preserve human dignity, and promote sustainable societal development. By deeply embedding local insights, cultural wisdom, and real-time data into our processes, we ensure our innovations do more than solve complex problems - they also enhance quality of life and help build inclusive, resilient communities.

Who We Are

We deliver innovations for the digital society that respects human dignity

As a team of consultants, engineers, and scientists, we bring deep expertise from both the business and IT domains, shaped by our experiences across government and private sectors. Our solutions are never created in search of a problem; instead, they are thoughtfully designed to address the real challenges our clients face. This allows us to deliver meaningful innovations that uphold the principles of human dignity, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We integrate local knowledge, culture, and traditions into the Innovation Life Cycle, delivering relevant and meaningful solutions driven by Artificial Intelligence.

Values

We value human dignity

Happiness

Happiness is an emotional state characterized by feelings of joy, satisfaction, contentment, and fulfillment. While happiness has many different definitions, it is often described as involving positive emotions and life satisfaction. Innovations are competent when they increase these human elements.

Liberty

Liberty is the quality or state of being free. This mainly consists of the power to do as one pleases, the freedom from physical restraint, the freedom from arbitrary or despotic control, and last but not the least the positive enjoyment of various social, political, or economic rights and privileges.

Life

Life is defined as any system capable of performing functions such as eating, metabolizing, excreting, breathing, moving, growing, reproducing, and responding to external stimuli. The right to be born and performing these functions are fundamental human rights.

Statements

We answer real life issues

Vision

Our vision is to seamlessly deliver innovations for the digital society that respects human dignity - that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness - based on the relationship in which the independence is equal, the dependence is mutual, and the obligation is reciprocal.

Mission

We always integrate local knowledge, culture and traditions into the Innovation Life Cycle, mostly with the help of Artificial Intelligence - that learns in real-time from unique data sources at society level - to deliver competent innovations that answer real life issues.

Sectors

We serve government institutions and private companies

Clean Tech

Clean technology is any process, product, or service that reduces negative environmental impacts through significant energy efficiency improvements, the sustainable use of resources, or environmental protection activities.

Social Tech

Social technology is a way of using human, intellectual and digital resources in order to influence social processes. This technology is also split between human-oriented technologies and artifact-oriented technologies.

Med Tech

Medical technology is any technology, including medical devices, IT-systems, algorithms, artificial intelligence, cloud and blockchain, designed to support healthcare organizations and improve quality of lives. It is moving towards a holistic pratice.

Fin Tech

Financial technology is the technology and innovation that aims to compete with traditional financial methods in the delivery of financial services. Whenever applicable, it uses the blockchain technology to improve activities in finance and tax.

Food Tech

Food technology is a branch of food science that deals with the production, preservation, quality control and research and development of the food products. It also concentrates on compliance, warehousing, and logistics.

Industrial Tech

Industrial technology is the use of engineering and manufacturing technology including intelligent software to make production faster, simpler, and more efficient. It integrates predictive technologies for resource planning and maintenance.

Deep Tech

Deep technology is the generic term for technologies not focused on end-user services that includes artificial intelligence, robotics, blockchain, advanced material science, photonics and electronics, biotech and quantum computing. The focus today is more on artificial intelligence for scalable number, text, image, and audio processing.

IoT Tech

The internet of things describes physical objects that are embedded with sensors, processing ability, software, and other technologies, and that connect and exchange data with other devices and systems over the internet or other communications networks. Intelligent sensor embedding and sensor fusion is the challenge of the day.

Innovations

Innovation Life Cycle

The sought-after build process

In the dawn of the fourth industrial revolution, data is the most valuable commodity. We are specialized in innovation to transform any organisation to become data-driven and equip them with cutting edge technologies. Innovation is the process of creating business out of the knowledge that has been accumulated through research and development. This is the build process of the Innovation Life Cycle. In summary, research and development is a component of innovation and is situated at the frontend of the Innovation Life Cycle.

The three cardinal processes

The Innovation Life Cycle is in practice at its core a never-ending process. From research to development it produces innovations that are subjected to feedback and evaluations. The whole process is primarily driven by market-pull, rather than technology-push. It starts with a proof of concept, then proceeds with a minimum viable product, and finally results in a full product launch. Hence, we don't make solutions looking for a problem, but our solutions answer real life issues our clients face. Ultimately, it is about answering the right question.

1. Proof of concept (POC)

Proof of concept, also known as proof of principle, is a realization of a certain method or idea in order to demonstrate its feasibility, or a demonstration in principle with the aim of verifying that some concept or theory has practical potential. A proof of concept is usually small and may or may not be complete. This means that the steps after the experiment part of the Innovation Life Cycle is allowed to be skipped.

2. Minimum viable product (MVP)

Minimum viable product is a development technique that continues the POC phase in which a new product is introduced in the market with basic features, but enough to start with early customers who can then provide feedback for future product development. The final product is released in the market only after getting sufficient feedback from these initial users. This MVP phase consists of the test product launch (TPL) part of the Innovation Life Cycle.

3. Full product launch (FPL)

Full product launch involves various steps that continues the MVP phase which involves understanding customer needs, product design, testing of the product, marketing and advertising, and ensuring that the product reaches out to all its audience. A successful product launch provides a sales momentum for the company or the outcomes are one-by-one as intended.

New product updates are released as user feedback continues to come in, which is part of the Innovation Life Cycle. In some cases new product updates are released due to new rules and regulations mandated by law or because of new technological breakthroughs (in other domains) and may or may not be the result of an in-house research and development activity. It is adviseable to do the TPL before the FPL for all major updates.

Architecture

By design

Privacy

Privacy by design is the integration of considerations that anticipates and prevents privacy invasive events before they happen. Privacy assurance is the system its default mode of operation.

Security

Security by design is an approach to software and hardware development that focuses on preventing a security breach rather than repairing the issue and restoring systems after a security breach.

Scalability

Scalability by design is the measure of a system its ability to increase or decrease in performance and cost in response to changes in application and system processing demands.

Public Sector

Public-Private Partnership

We partner with government bodies as Public-Private Partnership (PPP). The partnership is investment in projects in a financial sense (manpower and materials) and in an expertise-related sense (knowledge, know-how, and networks).

Different contract forms are possible for PPP: Alliances, Design and Build, and Design, Build, Finance, Maintain (and Operate). The latter form has the acronym of DBFM(O).

We prefer the DBFM(O) contract form. In this case, the government transfers elements of a project and project financing to us. These are long-term contracts that may run for up to 30 years.

It is also a common practice to transfer the whole project instead of only certain elements of a project to us.
